Caroline understands the importance of quick, practical, high quality advice in a sensitive situation. She has practised employment law for many years and has dealt with all its aspects. Caroline manages to achieve an optimal result for her clients and to build up a long and pleasant relationship with them. She works in a goal-driven fashion. She prefers to advise her clients also at a strategic level, for example in the event of a collective redundancy or transfer of undertaking.
Caroline has particular expertise in transactions involving downsizing and restructuring, dismissals of and negotiations with executives, employee consultation issues and advising on employment conditions and benefits. She appreciates the importance of quick, practical, high quality advice in a sensitive situation.
Caroline has built up a strong client relationship with many international and Dutch companies. She also frequently acts for board members and senior executives in dismissal-related cases, often resulting in successful career moves. She also often advises expats on employment matters. Each client is important for her.
Caroline is one of the founders of Milestone advocaten. She has more than 20 years of experience as employment lawyer. She worked for 10 years as an employment lawyer with Clifford Chance before she founded her own law firm in 2004. In 2009 she co-founded Milestone Advocaten together with Lida Kraaijeveld. Caroline currently still cooperates with Clifford Chance in the role of concept sparring partner.
Caroline was nominated by a number of clients for election as the best employment lawyer in The Netherlands.
Caroline is a board member of the NVVMA (Dutch Association of Mediation Lawyers) and the VVAA (the Amsterdam Association of employment lawyers). She teaches mediation and professional ethics to first year attorneys for the Dutch Bar Association.
Caroline van der Zwet is also an experienced mediator and she is registered as such with the MfN (MediationfederatieNederland ). She has managed to reach a solid resolution in many employment law and co-operation disputes.
